An Open Letter to Total Access and Coaching Clients
Dear Total Access or Platinum Coaching Client,
Are you frustrated because you aren’t getting the results you want in your business?
Do you want a complete internet business that sells high-priced consulting, a group coaching program, and a home study course, but for some reason, no matter how much you learn, you just can’t DO IT?

This letter is probably going to teach you more about internet marketing than you’ve learned in the last 365 days from ANYONE else.
And what I’m writing in this letter, I’ve never taught until now.
Period.
This is fresh material.
And I personally promise you will be amazed at how much you learn if you read this letter, every word, from top to bottom.

Now, before I get into the nitty gritty, I want to bring something up.
The reason you are reading this – because I am only sending this to Total Access or Coaching Clients – is because you are a Total Access client or a Coaching Client.
That means you have access to the KNOWLEDGE.
But you aren’t implementing it.
You know WHAT to do, but something is missing.
It’s implementation.
Now, that’s probably not because you aren’t trying.
It’s not because you don’t know WHAT to do.
And it’s not because you are lazy.
It’s not because you aren’t putting the time in.
You know what to do.
You are putting the time in.
And yet, at the end of the day – you don’t have these parts in place.
And it’s not your fault. It happens to almost everyone.
And when you read this, you are going to think, how easy this is.
And you are going to think, this is the same thing Sean has been saying to me for months, just rephrased a different way.
The reason: it’s a simple system.
It’s what I do in my own business.
It’s simple.
It only involves a few pages on your site, a few offerings to your clients, and some daily content writing.
It’s simple.
I don’t have any employees.
I rarely pay anyone to write, I outsource graphics only because I don’t want to take the time to learn, and I outsource basic customer service because I get hundreds of emails each day and only 10 of them are important, so I don’t want to spend 2 hours a day reading emails telling me about the latest mlm, million-visit traffic system, or someone begging me to please promote their product since they are just getting started and don’t know how to get their own traffic.
I do everything else myself. And generate between $15,000 and $42,000 each month like clockwork.
All from my seat in the local coffee shop or at the table in our dining room that overlooks the garden my wife has planted for the summer.
And you might have just read that and thought, but that’s Sean.
He’s ultra productive.
Or really smart.
Or God just likes him.
Whatever you are thinking.
Sure, those things are true.
But they can be true for YOU as well.
God likes you.
You are smarter than you think (surely smart enough to have 5 pages on your website and talk on the phone to people who need your help. You do talk, right? And you do use a telephone, right?)
And you can be just as productive.
You see, the reason I am productive is not because I work really fast or I’m an automaton.
It’s because I’ve spent the last 7 years perfecting a system that works like clockwork.
I simply use my system.
And you can too.
I want you to imagine for a minute a business.
I want you to imagine that you have a really simple business.
Whatever your niche is, it involves helping other people, right?
You teach SOMETHING, right?
You teach people how to create a blog, or how to get a date, or how to trade German deutschmarks, or how to hire employees, or how to do a budget, or how to make up with your wife, or how to get your husband to get off the couch and get to work, or SOMETHING.
Right?
You teach something, right?
Ok, what do you teach?
Say this after me: I teach people how to _____________
(By the way, if you can’t finish that sentence, that is 1/2 of your problem. Stop now and figure that sentence out.)
So you teach people how to _________
Now, what are the various ways you can teach people that thing?
You can talk with them one on one, right?
You can talk with them in a group, right?
or you can record a series of lessons and they can learn from those lessons, right?
You can do all 3 of those things.
What if I told you that my entire business is all about doing those 3 things?
That’s it.
Stick with me for a second.
YOU can talk with people one on one and teach them how to do __________?
In fact, that would be the best way to teach someone, right?
Here’s the thing: I think there is too much emphasis these days on automation.
You know, create a zillion products and just talk people into buying all those products.
Products don’t change people’s lives, YOU change lives.
Stop focusing on product creation.
Wait! You say – but don’t you teach product creation?
yes, I do.
But it is the LAST thing to do, not the first.
Let me explain.
Buying products is the LEAST effective way for someone to learn from you.
So why sell products FIRST?
Because it’s what everyone else is doing?
Is that working for YOU?
Here’s a hint: it’s not working for them as well as you think.
Only about 1/2 my revenue comes from products! And people who get real results get those results by working personally with me, not from products.
Your main focus should be helping people personally.
Now, you might say, but I don’t want to coach a million people one on one, and I want to help a million people.
That’s ok.
Coach 10 people a month one on one.
Everyone else gets group coaching or buys products.
But coach 10 people.
No matter how much money you make.
Coach 10 people.
And simply raise the price for your one on one coaching until the demand is exactly 10 one on one clients per month.
Then anyone who cannot afford your one on one coaching, enrolls in your group coaching.
Group coaching is 2nd best to one on one coaching.
Same thing with products.
Everyone who cannot afford your coaching, buys your products.
What are your products?
They are simply a downloadable version of your group coaching teaching.
You can call it a home study course.
The INFORMATION is the same, whether someone buys one on one coaching, group coaching, or your home study course.
The difference is the personal involvement with you.
The training itself doesn’t get the results.
The contact with you gets the results.
So if you REALLY want to change people’s lives, you MUST offer some one on one coaching.
Period.
You might say, I don’t know how to coach one on one.
That’s okay.
I’ll give you a lesson right now.
Follow me on something.
If someone approached you in the coffeeshop this morning and asked you “what do you teach people to do?”
And you said, “I teach people how to ___________ (you know, whatever you teach, fill in the blanks)”
If that person asked you to sit down with them – face to face – for one hour and show them how to do ________ (what you teach people to do), you could teach them how to do it, right?
You could tell them the steps, right?
(If you can’t, then you have no right to be in the information business, anyhow, if you can’t teach someone how to do what you teach . . . )
You could pull out a sheet of paper and list the steps, right?
And if they asked questions you could answer them, right?
That is one on one coaching.
You can do it.
One on one coaching is teaching someone how to do something one on one.
There’s nothing special about it.
“One on one coaching” is just a fancy way of saying “teaching someone something face to face”
But maybe you are thinking, but I can’t sit face to face with most of my clients, they are in various states or countries.
So let me ask you this, if you can tell someone what to do face to face, you can tell them the same thing over the telephone, right?
What if someone called you and asked, “do you have one hour, can you tell me how to do _______ (whatever you teach)?
You can teach them, right?
That is one on one coaching.
You can coach.
You can coach one on one.
And one on one coaching should be the backbone of your business.
Now, you may be thinking, but I want to automate my entire business.
That doesn’t work in today’s market.
Sure, you can automate it.
But you won’t make very many sales.
Almost everyone who has automated their entire business is having to come back into the business and get personal, or go out of business.
I know, you are probably thinking, but so-and-so is making $5 million a year selling automated information products.
Not anymore! They used to. But not anymore! If you dig into their businesses – and I’ve done it for many of the big name gurus – I’ve dug in to see where they are making their money.
Most of the revenue is personal! That’s right – one on one coaching, or group coaching for people who can’t afford their one on one coaching.
The products sales are only 1 of 2 things:
1) a lead in (you know, a $100 entry level product) that does NOT make you money, it only pays for your traffic
or 2) something people buy if they cannot afford your one on one or group coaching.
But almost all revenue in the information niches is coming from working with people personally.
So the question is, do you want to change people’s lives and make money?
Then you’ve got to get out of the mindset that you can create a bunch of products and automate their sales.
That used to work.
But the world is changing.
There’s a lot to the “why” of this, I could teach on this for an hour, but don’t want to write for an hour for this – so I’ll sum it up like this:
the cost of “information” online is approaching zero. WSOs are the proof of that. You can learn how to do almost ANYTHING for $7 on the warrior forum.
So why do people buy hundreds of $7 WSOs and still have NOTHING in their business? They should be really smart if they buy that many WSOs, right?
But knowledge isn’t the issue.
Implementation is.
And implementation happens when you meet with someone personally.
And that’s probably what’s happened with you, right? You’ve bought a lot of INFORMATION but no one has held you accountable for DOING it, right?
So now let’s get into the business model.
You have one on one coaching.
10 clients a month at $300 an hour. Or $1000 an hour. Whatever.
Then 100 clients a month at $300 a month.
Then 1000 people buy your information package (your product) for $1000.
How would you like to have a business like that?
You can.
Maybe it won’t be quite that big, but you can adjust the numbers for your niche.
Maybe it’s $500 an hour for coaching.
$200 a month for group.
And 100 people buy at $500 instead of 1000 at $1000.
But do you like that model?
You can have a business like that.
Now, I can hear you now, but I just want to sell the information package because that is all automated revenue.
That’s where you are wrong.
And almost everyone else that is trying to just sell information products, is wrong.
Because the REASON THEY BUY YOUR INFORMATION PACKAGE IS BECAUSE YOU HAVE A COACHING PROGRAM!!!!
They buy your information product because they really want your coaching, but they can’t afford it.
or they buy your information product because they don’t have time to take your coaching, but they want the information.
Or they buy the information package to see if they want to invest in coaching with you.
Notice that all 3 reasons why people buy information products revolve around you having coaching!!!!
If you don’t have coaching, no one wants to buy your information!!!
But the problem is, that everyone sees the big-time gurus selling a million dollars of infoproducts on autopilot.
So they think, I want to sell infoproducts on autopilot like the gurus.
But they don’t GET that the infoproducts are only selling on autopilot because they are created by the guru with a coaching program!!!
Are you getting this, really getting it?
Think of your favorite guru.
I’ll go through a few:
Dan Kennedy – would he sell millions of dollars in infoproducts if he weren’t . . Dan Kennedy? No. But what makes him . . Dan Kennedy? His high priced coaching frames him. $5000 an hour or $25k a day. THAT’S why people buy his products.
Rich Schefren. His coaching is the core part of his business.
Yanik Silver – People don’t buy from him because he has a bunch of products, they buy his products because he is a high-priced consultant and thought leader.
Eben Pagan – he doesn’t even have traditional “products”. Almost all sales are coaching, or they are $2,000 recordings of . . . coaching.
I could go on and on.
Russell Brunson . . . his coaching program is his core offering. All products simply lead to his coaching program.
I could keep going, but I won’t.
Find a guru making $5 million or more and you will almost always, if not always, see that the bulk of their revenue is not only from coaching, but it is also BECAUSE of their coaching.
No coaching, no sales.
But you might be thinking, but I don’t want to make $5 million, I just want $100k.
Ok, fine.
But can I ask you a crazy question?
If Dan Kennedy, Eben Pagan, Rich Schefren, and Russell Brunson could just switch their business over and make their $5 million + just selling info products so they could go retire on a beach . . . why don’t they?
Do you really think Dan Kennedy LIKES coaching 10 hours a week these days?
Do you really think Rich Schefren LIKES coaching 10 hours a week these days?
And Eben Pagan and Yanik Silver and so on.
Don’t tell me they wouldn’t stop coaching if they could make the same money just selling infoproducts!
But they KNOW that if they stopped coaching, they would STOP being the guru, and people would STOP buying their products!!!
So if they can’t do it – with all their guru-ness, what makes you think you can do it?I
Actually, I think I know why.
Because I tried it myself.
I tried to go to just selling infoproducts.
And it didn’t work.
Once I stopped 1-1 coaching, the infoproduct sales dried up!!!!
Even though most infoproduct sales are from people who do NOT buy 1-1 coaching.
And if Dan Kennedy stopped coaching, his sales would go down.
And look, he doesn’t have to coach everyone.
You see, you just keep raising your prices until the demand for your coaching = about 10 1-1 clients per month.
Plus you have a coaching program (or 3)
THEN your infoproducts sell like hotcakes!!!
I hope you are getting the psychology here.
And I hope you are excited for yourself.
Maybe you are little scared because you didn’t realize you’d have to build a 1-1 coaching practice.
But can you see how if you add a 1-1 coaching practice with just 10 clients, that all the other sales will just run downhill?
You see, the folks that talk about a sales funnel have it all wrong.
They talk about starting low and moving people through a funnel.
But they don’t realize that without the 1-1 coaching at the top of their funnel, the entire funnel doesn’t work.
You see, Dan Kennedy can talk about a sales funnel all day long and everyone can copy him – but what he doesn’t tell you is that if you don’t have a COMPLETE funnel – meaning 1-1 and group coaching at the top – the bottom of the funnel doesn’t work.
So even though you SEE the front of the guru’s funnels with a $100 product –> $1000 product –> coaching that doesn’t mean you can start with a $100 product that leads to a $1000 product or any other price point and get the same results – UNLESS YOU HAVE COACHING ANCHORING YOUR SALES FUNNEL!!!
Do you want a real business that makes real money?
Then you must be willing to discard the fallacy that you can build an infobusiness that is just based on products.
You need:
1) One on one coaching with 10 clients priced at what the market will bear
2) Group coaching for everyone who cannot afford to work with you 1-1 (at a price the market will bear)
3) (Optional): a “membership” for people who cannot even afford group coaching
(have you ever noticed that people who have big coaching programs have big memberships with automated content, but if you try to start a membership from scratch with the same content as theirs – even if you cut the price in half – you don’t build a big membership. That’s because memberships are for people who can’t afford a group coaching program. But if you don’t have a group coaching program, then you have nothing for the membership buyers to “not afford.” So they don’t buy the membership.)
4) A home study course for people who want everything in the membership, but all in one download instead of spread out over months (once again, for people who don’t buy your coaching)
5) A website that has a sales page on it for each of the above 4 items
6) An email campaign that tells people about your coaching and the rest of your offerings (in case they can’t afford your coaching [are you getting this yet, at a visceral level?])
7) Once those 6 things are in place EVERYTHING else is about promoting those 6 things. Meaning get people who need what you teach to come to your site. This can be done through: articles, blog posts, facebook, books you write, speeches you do, people you talk with, and so on. Not “traffic.” Dan Kennedy doesn’t “drive traffic.” Rich Schefren doesn’t “drive traffic.” Yanik Silver doesn’t ‘drive traffic.” I don’t “drive traffic.”
So if all of us don’t “drive traffic,” why should you?
Because low-end im-niche bottom feeders keep telling you to “drive traffic”? Notice that high-end gurus don’t “drive traffic” nor do they spend much time talking about “driving traffic” and when they do, it’s usually because their clients BEG them to talk about. Sure, occasionally they might buy some traffic somewhere – but they are usually just doing it to get eyeballs to offers for testing, etc. – but not for the real sales. The sales occur through people talking about them, referrals, people talking about them in books, articles, blogs, etc. Almost all of my “traffic” is NOT from something I pay for or “drive” it’s from articles, blog posts, forum posts, discussions, other clients, etc. Driving traffic to make money is a myth. Sorry to burst one more bubble (and reveal one more internet marketing lie)
Back to the list:
How would it feel to have a business like that?
Like this:
1) One on one coaching with 10 clients priced at what the market will bear
2) Group coaching for everyone who cannot afford to work with you 1-1 (at a price the market will bear)
3) (Optional): a “membership” for people who cannot even afford group coaching
4) A home study course for people who want everything in the membership, but all in one download instead of spread out over months (once again, for people who don’t buy your coaching)
5) A website that has a sales page on it for each of the above 4 items
6) An email campaign that tells people about your coaching and the rest of your offerings (in case they can’t afford your coaching [are you getting this yet, at a visceral level?])
7) Once those 6 things are in place EVERYTHING else is about promoting those 6 things.
And the crazy thing is, this is the EASIEST business to set up – when you know what to do and how to do it.
Now, because you are a Total Access client or a Coaching Client, you already know “HOW” to do everything I listed above.
Unless you just started coaching a few days ago.
But if you have Total Access, you have like 300 hours of intense content teaching you what to do.
And if you are a Coaching client, you have access to the coaching lessons, which teach HOW to do everything I’ve just listed above.
So the question is this:
what is holding you back from JUST DOING IT?
It’s not the knowledge.
And by the way, if you are thinking, ok, Sean just taught me the missing piece, I’ll just go out and implement what Sean just taught me – let me warn you – coach to client: it won’t work.
For the same reason you haven’t implemented what you’ve already invested in.
Because you are in a pattern of learning MORE and MORE and MORE but not implementing.
Do you want a business like the one I have just described?
If so, you must break the pattern.
I mean, really break it.
You MUST break the pattern and get into a new pattern.
You must start implementing.
And that’s going to take, frankly speaking, more than just making another New Year’s Day Resolution in June.
It didn’t work in January.
It didn’t work last year.
It didn’t work the year before.
And it won’t work this time.
You know what the definition of insanity is, right?
“Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
You have repeatedly in the past said, I am going to make a change and just be accountable and build my business.
But it never works.
Because you have no one that can really hold you accountable.
You can’t hold yourself accountable.
Because that is the fox in the henhouse.
Your wife can’t hold you accountable, cause after the first week, she’s just nagging, right? She has no clue what you do, how can she hold you accountable?
Your husband can’t hold you accountable, cause he’s just lording it over you after the first week, right?
You know it’s true!!
Your friends can’t hold you accountable because they know that if you actually succeed, they are envious. Seriously, do you have any friends that really would LIKE it if you could work from home 2 hours a day and go to the pool the rest of the time while they slave away at a 9-5 job?
C’mon, let’s get real.
There is NO ONE in your life who can really hold you accountable and do a good job of it.
You need a professional to hold you accountable.
Just like you need a professional to do your accounting if it’s going to save you the most money.
And a professional to diagnose your diseases.
And a professional to build your next home.
You need a professional to hold you accountable.
How would it feel to have someone to take you by the hand, show you each week EXACTLY What to do EACH week to implement the business we’ve just discussed?
What if you talked with them each week and they HELD YOU ACCOUNTABLE for DOING the work from last week???
You see, each of these 6 steps only takes one week to do, the way I teach it:

However, I’ve decided to take on 10 clients and work with them personally over the next 10 weeks.
And as you know, I charge $1000 an hour to work with people one on one long term.
So the value of my time alone would be $10,000 to work with you one on one.
But it’s not going to be $10,000 for you. I’ll explain in a sec.

which is over 40 hours of intense lesson material that teaches you in detail how to do EVERY STEP I’ve outlined above.

If I were to sell these lessons separately – and they are available no where else – I would sell them for $5,000.

One hour upfront for a complete blueprint planning call.
Then as many as 10-20 more hours – up to 2 hours per week – where we meet and I hold you accountable for the work you’ll do that week.
That’s another $10,000 + in real world value.

But like I said, it won’t be $15,000 for you today.

Knocking 80% right off the top – taking the price down to $3,000 for 10 weeks of coaching, up to 2 hours per week, 1-1 live with me, holding your feet to the fire, pushing you to achieve the results in your business that you deserve.

Because I’m not taking just anyone.
Just because you bought Total Access or enrolled in my group coaching doesn’t mean you are willing to listen to me and do the work to build your complete business in the next 10 weeks.
