The Importance of Faith and Purpose in Building Your Internet Business
Dear Friend,
One of the things that’s become very clear to me lately about my success – and the success of so many others online and off – is that the “steps” are probably the smallest part of our success.
And yet, when you look for training on “how to be successful” or “how to start a successful business” it’s mostly about “7 steps” or “the system.”
And sure, you’ve gotta have the theory, you have to have guidelines for the tactics and techniques that work. But the funny thing is, if you look at 10 different internet marketers who are successful – you probably will find that NONE of them got there the same way. They probably didn’t get there exactly like their 7 step system purports.
You know how it goes:
1) Choose a niche
2) Build a list
3) Create products (or become an affiliate)
4) Write emails and sell
5) Rinse and repeat
That’s the basic gist of most of the internet marketing systems out there, right? Sure, everyone adds their own flavor – you know, copywriting is important, relationship is important, whatever. But that is the basic system that is taught day in and day out.
And by the way – that works. In theory. And when you look back at a successful business, you can usually find all those parts. But it is rare that they occur in that order or in that way!
Think about it – most people stumble on the niche that works for them; they don’t mastermind it.
Product creation usually happens as a result of demand, not because you set out to do it.
And frankly, there are 2 missing elements that are critical, but rarely talked about: good copywriting and relationship building through effective communication. Look, if you do everything else right, but you can’t string words together in a way that gets people to buy, you don’t have much of anything!
So I challenge you: think about your favorite success stories online and see how well they match up to the “system.” I daresay most don’t even come close.
And each person will attribute his success – if you get him alone and away from his platform – to his faith, his strong desire, his sense of purpose, determination, etc.
NOT the steps!
Sure, the steps happen.
But frankly, most people who have invested at least $100 online probably know most of the steps. You probably already know more than some gurus about some of the steps, just in studying all the videos and trainings to do the steps. The gurus aren’t watching videos and learning steps – they are implementing things in their business as a result of their faith, sense of purpose, driving desire, so on.
So I thought that on this bonus download page I would reveal what are the biggest factors to my success.
And they are NOT the steps.
(One more note about the “steps”: they are all learnable.
Meaning that if you go to do something and don’t know how to do it, you just learn it.
But if you don’t have the other things – faith, desire, purpose, drive, and so – you never get to the place where you use the steps.)
And I’m going to be bold here and say something that might offend some people:
If you aren’t succeeding online, but you have been studying the “steps,” meaning you know what to do, you are even trying to do it, but the result isn’t success – it’s probably not the steps, nor your implementation of them.
It’s probably something else.
Now, for each successful entrepreneur out there, I think each would define the things that drove him to success in a little different way. Some might have a stronger emphasis on faith, some might have a stronger emphasis on drive, or desire, or something else.
But I think that the best way to illustrate it for you is to show you what drives me in my own life, what I believe has had the biggest impact on my business – and a far greater impact than the “steps”
First, I’ll list them out, then I’ll link to a pdf or mp3 that teaches that particular item:
1) My relationship with Jesus Christ (Who bridges the gap between man and God with His death and resurrection)
2) An intense desire and feeling of purpose of how I am designed to change the world
3) The ideas and creativity that have led me to offer unique and useful training for people to buy (If no one buys, I’m out of business. Same with you. You have to have something that people WANT to buy or your business won’t last long)
4) A process of constant evaluation, optimization, maximization and improvement (for example, the 80/20 rule implemented)
And now, links to training where I share how that
